Critical Incident Support Services

We provide timely, effective and person-centered critical incident support services. Using trauma-informed care, psychological first aid and critical incident defusing, we can help guide our clients through the process of responding to their team’s needs following a difficult event.

Has someone in your team experienced a traumatic incident or high stress event? Has something happened which has had a profound impact on the psychological safety of your team?

A variety of traumatic or high stress events regularly occur within workplace settings. These may include: witnessing or experiencing workplace violence, serious injury or death, criminal behaviour, suicide, suicide attempt, death or serious illness of a team member.

Appropriate support following a critical incident promotes recovery and reduces the likelihood of adverse psychological outcomes.

Critical Incident Support Services

  • This service offers impacted employees a safe space to process the incident in which they have been involved and address any immediate support needs they may have.

    The service involves:

    • A 60 minute session with a Clinical Psychologist 24-48 hours following the event

    • Provision of resources related to coping after a critical incident

    • Collaborative development of a personalised recovery plan

    • Assessment of needs for referral to external support services 

    • An optional 15-30 minute check in session via phone 1-2 weeks following the event

  • This service offers a structured, voluntary group session which aims to assist impacted employees process the event, develop perspective, and establish a process of recovery.

    The service involves:

    • A 60-90 minute session facilitated by a Clinical Psychologist 24-48 hours following the event

    • Provision of resources related to coping after a critical incident

    • Assessment of needs for referral to external support services

Inclusions

All support options include pre- and post-intervention leadership support as well as analysis of needs, recommendations and strategy development relating to post-critical incident management. 

If requiring more than one intervention, package pricing is available for multiple sessions associated with the same incident. 

All critical incident support services are confidential and therefore limited feedback can be provided to referrers.
